There are cheaper entry level guitars, but this is the start of the ones we’ve found that actually sound and feel good. There’s enough to concentrate on when learning a new instrument – you don’t want to be fighting to tune it, working overly hard to push the strings down, and listening to a weak, tinny tone. This guitar has a spruce top with mahogany back and sides, giving it a lovely tone even for this price range, and with a comfortable low action (strings close to the fingerboard) it makes playing feel good, which is especially important when you’re just starting out. If you think you might have a bit of fun learning to play music, treat yourself to something you’re actually going to enjoy playing.
This version of the AF510 also has a built-in pickup to play it through an amp, and a cutaway.
